Dubai — Roads and Transport Authority (Dubai) is advancing plans for a 55-kilometre metro line linking Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, in a move aimed at strengthening integration between the emirate’s two aviation hubs.Gulf
The proposed “Airport Express” line is currently in the tender and feasibility stage, with consultancy bids expected in 2026. The route is planned to extend from the Red Line at DXB toward DWC, with a limited number of intermediate stations.
The project will incorporate integrated airport services, including remote check-in and baggage handling, positioning it as a next-generation transport solution.
Strategically, the link supports Dubai’s long-term plan to expand Al Maktoum International Airport and enhance its role as a global aviation hub, while improving passenger connectivity and transfer efficiency across the city.
