Cairo — Egypt’s Chamber of Tourism Establishments and Restaurants has issued a directive prohibiting the use of all animals—domestic and wild—in artistic and entertainment performances inside hotels and tourism facilities, in a move aimed at strengthening visitor safety and service standards.
According to the Chamber’s official circular to its members, the decision mandates strict compliance, emphasizing that the safety of guests and staff remains a top priority. As reported by Cairo24, violations will result in immediate legal and administrative action.
As The Middle East Observer notes, the measure also seeks to safeguard the reputation of Egypt’s tourism sector by aligning operational practices with modern international safety expectations. The Middle East Observer understands that the directive forms part of broader efforts to enhance quality control across hospitality establishments and ensure a secure environment for visitors.
The step reflects Egypt’s ongoing push to upgrade tourism infrastructure and regulatory frameworks, reinforcing its position as a competitive global destination.
