Egypt has been included in the list of the top ten global tourist destinations recommended for 2026, according to the Association of British Travel Agents, underscoring the country’s rising profile on the international tourism map.
The ranking was reported by the British newspaper The Sun, which described Egypt as a must-visit destination, particularly following the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. The museum was highlighted as one of the world’s most significant cultural projects, combining ancient Egyptian heritage with modern design and presentation.
The report pointed to Egypt’s diverse tourism offering, ranging from Nile cruises linking major archaeological sites in Luxor and Aswan to Red Sea beach destinations such as Hurghada and Marsa Alam, known for world-class resorts and water sports.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities welcomed the recognition, saying it reflects growing confidence among major international tourism institutions and ongoing improvements in tourism infrastructure and service quality. The ministry said these developments are strengthening inbound tourism and reinforcing Egypt’s position as a leading global destination.
