Must read

Cairo — Egypt’s offshoring sector recorded a new milestone with the inauguration of a Global Talent Centre by Alshaya Group in Cairo, marking the Group’s 20-year presence in the Egyptian market.

The centre was inaugurated by Ahmed Elzaher, Chief Executive Officer of Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), alongside senior executives from the company, reflecting continued institutional support for Egypt’s positioning as a regional hub for IT-enabled services.

Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) operates as the Egyptian government’s executive arm for developing the ICT sector, driving investment, talent development, and export growth in digital and business services. Meanwhile, Alshaya Group is one of the region’s leading international retail franchise operators, managing a wide portfolio of global brands across the Middle East, Europe, and beyond, with growing investments in technology, logistics, and customer experience platforms to support its regional operations.

According to official statements, the facility will deliver a range of offshore services, including multilingual customer support, contact centre operations, digital marketing, and IT solutions, supporting Alshaya’s operations across 16 markets in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as selected international markets.

The launch underscores Egypt’s growing role as a competitive destination for global business services, supported by a skilled and multilingual workforce. It also aligns with national efforts to expand ICT exports and attract multinational service centres.

The centre builds on Alshaya’s Cairo-based contact and technology operations established in late 2024, as well as a cooperation agreement signed with ITIDA in 2025 to enhance talent development and digital capabilities. The company plans to expand the centre over the next two years, creating more than 400 job opportunities, further strengthening Egypt’s digital economy.
