In a significant stride towards bridging academia and industry, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) has formalized a partnership with the Engineering Company for Petroleum and Chemical Industries (ENPPI) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The alliance, signed on December 29, 2024, at the Academy’s Abu Qir headquarters in Alexandria, underscores a commitment to scientific cooperation and innovation.

The agreement was inked by Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy, and Eng. Wael Lotfy Mustafa, Chairman and Managing Director of ENPPI, amidst a gathering of esteemed academics and industry leaders. Attendees included Prof. Dr. Youssef El Gamal, former Minister of Education, and advisors and vice presidents from across the Academy’s faculties and departments.

This collaboration is designed to harmonize academic knowledge with industrial practice, addressing the evolving demands of the labor market through tailor-made training programs for both students and employees. The initiative aims to elevate technical and administrative skills while fostering innovation in engineering, petroleum, and chemical sectors.

With access to shared resources such as laboratories and research facilities, the partnership will facilitate the development of new products and industrial processes. It will also promote active participation in conferences and seminars, enriching both academic and industrial dialogues.

Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting ENPPI’s esteemed role in engineering services across various industries and the potential for mutual success in research and scientific endeavors. Echoing this sentiment, Eng. Wael Lotfy Mustafa emphasized the Academy’s robust reputation in scientific research and training, foreseeing significant advancements in skills development for ENPPI’s workforce and the Academy’s scholars.

Following the MoU signing, a ceremonial exchange of commemorative shields marked the beginning of this promising partnership, symbolizing a shared vision for future achievements in scientific and industrial sectors.
