Transfering floating lighting to LED system

Must read

In response to the wish of workers in the tourism sector in Luxor and Nile cruises to improve the overall appearance of the city tourism, Minister of Tourism Dr. Hisham Zaazou has ordered moving all non-operating floating hotels accumulated in Luxor to start developing the tourism Marina to keep pace with global piers. The governorate will help the owners of these hotels choose places to tack their boats. The owners of the boats themselves will choose their new places whether through docking companies or use new places on the Nile.

This comes within the framework of showing the beauty of the Nile, facilitating the entry of tourists to the floating hotels and avoiding any injuries so that they would enjoy the Luxor Corniche and improve the overall appearance.

The tourism minister praised the fruitful cooperation with Luxor Governorate in activating all the decisions that have a positive impact on tourism in Luxor and ensure the elimination of all obstacles in this respect.

Meantime, in light of response to the state trends toward rationalizing energy and keenness on turning to the green tourism, this would contribute a great deal to preserving the environment and its natural resources, giving attention to lighting systems at hotels and shifting to energy-saving lighting. In cooperation with the project to improve energy efficiency implemented by the ministries of electricity and renewable energy and tourism, the Chamber of Hotel Facilities, funded by the United Nations Development Program, and the Global Environment Facility, the Conrad Cairo Hotel project to shift from traditional lighting to high-efficiency lighting to become one of the first hotels in Egypt, which are lit fully using the LED energy-saving technology has been supported.

For his part, the Minister of Tourism, stressed the importance of the project as an initiative and a pilot model that can be applied in all Egyptian hotels.

In the first implementation of the initiative, the hotel replaced all lighting systems (ordinary lamps of different capabilities, Projectors fluorescent, halogen spotlight bulbs and metal halide with a total of 8,000 bulb and flashlights) with the LED in line with all the requirements and technical specifications without affecting the levels of lighting.
