Luxor African Film Festival Accepting Submissions for 2025 Edition

Cairo, Egypt — The Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) has opened submissions for its 14th edition, set for January 9-14, 2025. LAFF invites entries for long documentaries, narrative films, and short films, including documentary, narrative, animation, and experimental genres. Films from the African diaspora and Egyptian students are also eligible.**

Eligible films must be produced in 2024, and those in competitive sections must not have been previously screened in Egypt. The submission deadline is October 30, 2024, with notifications by November 15, 2024.

Founded in 2012 by Sayed Fouad and Azza El-Hosseiny, LAFF is managed by the Independent Shabab Foundation (ISF) and features actor Mahmoud Hemida as its honorary president. The festival is known for its screenings, workshops, and events, held at Luxor’s archaeological sites.
