Technip Energies is in advanced discussions with the Egyptian government to establish a new engineering and contracting company in partnership with Enppi and Petrojet, in a move aimed at executing large-scale energy projects and exporting Egyptian engineering services to regional and international markets.
The talks were reviewed during a meeting between Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi and a senior Technip Energies delegation, which outlined the strategic foundations of the proposed alliance. These include advanced technology transfer, deeper integration by leveraging the strong local capabilities of Enppi and Petrojet, and access to competitive financing through international credit agencies.
Officials said the planned entity would be structured as a flexible platform capable of delivering front-end engineering design (FEED) as well as full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects with greater speed and efficiency. Once established, the company is expected to operate across Egypt and overseas, reinforcing the country’s ambition to become a regional hub for energy engineering and contracting services.
The initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader strategy to boost investment in hydrocarbon exploration and field development, including plans to drill hundreds of oil and gas wells by the end of the decade. It also reflects Technip Energies’ expanding global footprint, as the company continues to secure new assignments, including recent detailed engineering work on a carbon capture and storage project in Asia.
