Abu Dhabi will host the 2nd World Halal Tourism Summit 2016 from November 21 to 25, 2016, as part of the first International Travel Week (ITW).
The Summit will be held in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), with more than 6000 travel professionals contributing, including travel agents, hospitality groups, hoteliers, developers and key international decision makers from around the world.
The Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, who is due to attend, remarked: “Palestine, the cradle of religions and civilizations, participates in the World Halal Tourism Summit in Abu Dhabi. This event is of great importance to promote Palestine as a major destination for Halal tourism for the unique touristic and religious potential it has.”
Halal tourism is one of the fastest growing categories among world tourism, with its market expected to reach $238bn by 2019, representing 12-14 per cent of global tourism expenditure.
Halal tourists were found to be spending longer vacations and more money, compared to other types of tourism.
