Non-woven market products, one of China’s landmark fabric products, surged 128 per cent from 2000 to 2013. China will parade its products in Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd next month. Messe Frankfurt (HK), the German exhibition company’s Asia Pacific branch, will launch the China International Nonwovens Expo and Forum (CINE – supported by Techtextil) from 14 to 16 October, adding one more event to its comprehensive textile portfolio and complementing the biennial Cinte Techtextil China trade fair.
Non-woven products are fabric materials made by long fibers and bonded together by chemical, mechanical, heat or solvent treatment means. Such products include wound dressings, caps, gloves, surgical masks, bath wipes, pharmaceutical industry products, filters and geotextiles, such as foundation stabilisers, erosion control, canal construction, drainage systems, etc.
The Messe Frankfurt Texpertise network is one of the world’s most important textile trade fairs. Visitors from all around the globe come to this fair to discern the latest themes, trends and contacts.
In light of the continuing potential of China’s non-woven market (as imports grew from 61,400 to 140,000 tonnes between 2000 and 2013), this three-day event, to be held in Shanghai Mart, will combine a trade expo and an industry forum.
Nearly 100 non-woven product suppliers have confirmed their participation, confident they will be able to expand their business in China.
According to statistics compiled by the China Non-wovens and Industrial Textile Association, the unit price of imported non-wovens reached $6.1 per tonne in 2013, 35 per cent higher than in 2007. Meanwhile, the current import price is 1.7 times higher than the export price, indicating that high-end non-wovens from overseas still have a lot of room to expand their market share in the country.
The forum will cover the following topics: global non-wovens trade and opportunities in China; the development and forecast of high temperature flue gas filtration materials; the application of non-wovens in automotives; the market and technology developments of PET non-wovens; the technical process of flushable non-wovens; new developments in non-woven finishing technology; the green development of China’s non-wovens industry.
