Chinese robotics startup MirrorMe Technology has unveiled a new humanoid robot it claims is the fastest of its kind to operate outside laboratory conditions, highlighting China’s rapid advances in high-performance robotics.
The robot, named Bolt, reportedly achieved a peak running speed of 10 metres per second during real-world testing. Standing 1.75 metres tall and weighing around 75 kilograms, Bolt is designed with human-like proportions, including optimised limb lengths and centre-of-gravity placement, allowing it to maintain balance and stability at high speeds.
According to the company, Bolt’s performance is enabled by redesigned joints, advanced motion-control algorithms, and a fully optimised power system that allows smoother, more natural movement even under extreme physical stress. MirrorMe says the focus is not simply on speed records, but on advancing dynamic balance and agility in full-size humanoid robots.
Bolt builds on the company’s earlier work, including Black Panther II, a humanoid robot that completed a 100-metre sprint in 13.17 seconds during a televised demonstration last year. The new system reflects growing interest in humanoid robotics for both research and practical applications.
Founded in Shanghai in 2024, MirrorMe Technology draws on expertise from researchers linked to Zhejiang University and positions humanoid robots as future “intelligent athletic partners” for training, research, and advanced mobility testing.
