Some $44bn new investments in gas

Petroleum Minister Sherif Ismail has stated that, “The petroleum sector already carried out a number of projects in the last year, and there are some other project that are currently being carried out, and there are others that will be carried out in the coming period.”

The projects include five sectors, namely natural gas, petrol, chemicals, infrastructure of petroleum sector and mining at total investments of about $45 billion.

These investments include developing and producing natural gas at total investments of $21.8 billion, of which $14.1 billion-projects are currently being carried out, and projects of $7.7 billion will be carried out in the coming period.

In addition, the new mining wealth law is one of the most important accomplishments of the first year of president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, he said.

The ministry succeeded also in inking 56 new petroleum agreements on prospecting for petroleum and gas since November 2013 till this moment at investments of $12 billion.
