Over 221 million cubic metres of sand from new Suez Canal

Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Mohab Mameesh said that dredgers working in the new Suez Canal project lift 220,452 million cubic metres of sand soaked with water.

This represents 85.5 per cent of the total progress in the project, he stated. There are 38 dredgers working in the project, Executive Director of dredging in the project Wagdi Zaki said.

On the other hand, the degrading project at the new Suez Canal will receive on Tuesday the giant dredger Leonardo Da Vinci to partake in the final works of dredging.
