Saudi Monarch Salman bin Abd el-Aziz lands in Cairo tomorrow, Thursday, in his first official visit to Egypt, during which he will pray at Al-Azhar Mosque, according to Saudi sources.
The visit will see signing several agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) on different cooperation areas, which were agreed on during meetings held between both countries following the Egyptian-Saudi Coordination Council. Their total value is expected to exceed EGP 30bn.
President El-Sisi and King Salman will chair the joint coordination council meetings and will witness signing the agreements and MoUs on the first tranche of Saudi-Egyptian investments.
Sheikh Saleh Kamel, chairman of the Saudi chamber of trade and industry in Jeddah, said that joint investments will reach EGP 30bn over the next 5 years. He expects that among the MoUs signed during the visit, is an EGP 10bn poultry project in Sinai and another on setting up an EGP 1.5bn dry port in Ismailia.
Following the 5-day visit, King Salman will travel to Turkey where he is to attend meetings at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
