Egypt’s Ambassador to Nigeria Ashraf Abdel Khadir said that Assistant for National and Strategic Projects Eng. Ibrahim Mehleb visited Nigeria on 4-6 March 2016, on his way back from a visit to Togo.

During his visit, Mehleb met with Nigerian tycoon Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest businessman. The 2 sides discussed boosting Egyptian-Nigerian cooperation in several fields, especially real-estate and investing projects. Moreover, they tackled Nigeria recruiting Egyptian calibers for transferring expertise in certain sectors.

The Egyptian official met with a number of his country’s expatriates working in Nigeria, including businessmen, investors and employees at foreign companies. They discussed the opportunity to open up Nigerian markets for Egypt’s labours and products during the coming period.

Eng. Mehleb pointed out the significance of Africa-Egyptian cooperation, especially with Nigeria, in energy, said Ambassador Ashraf Abdel Khadir. He added that Egypt has a great technical experience in the field; it managed to overcome all power issues it faced over the past years, and increase power station capacity. Nigeria can benefit from such expertise.
