Mohamed Elneny Named UAE Pro League’s Best Player After Historic Season

Must read

Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny has been crowned “Best Player in the UAE Pro League” for the 2024–2025 season, winning the award through fan votes at the league’s annual ceremony held last night in Abu Dhabi.

The Al Jazira star, who beat competition from Fabio Lima and Lucas Pimenta, thanked supporters in a heartfelt message. “God willing, we will achieve something big this season,” Elneny told fans in a video message, urging them to “keep supporting us because you are number one.”

On his official X account, the former Arsenal and Egypt international wrote: “This is not just an award; it’s a love message from you… You are the real motivation behind every step I take.”

Last season, Elneny made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and providing three assists. He also achieved a historic first—becoming the first Egyptian to lift the UAE League Cup, after guiding Al Jazira to victory over Shabab Al Ahli Dubai in the final.

Sports analyst Hossam Hassan told The National Sports Desk that Elneny’s award “cements his influence as both a leader and a role model for Arab players abroad,” adding that his milestone “will inspire a new generation of Egyptian footballers to aim for success in Gulf leagues.”
