Celebrating Eid al Fitr the Egyptian way!

Here come Eid al Fitr, which is a Muslim celebration that comes after the Holy month of Ramadan.

Spending  Eid al fitr in Egypt always has a special taste; special rituals always accompany Egyptian celebration of Eid Al fitr.

Egyptians start their three days celebration by giving away “Zakat el Fitr”, which is an amount of money given away by Muslims to poor ones.

Eid prayers start really early, at the first day of Eid, most Egyptian wear their colorful clothes and head to mosques; special places around mosques are set to embrace big numbers of muslims; afterwards  they listen to ”Khutba”, which a  special speech given by the Sheik of the mosque.

Beautiful and colorful balloons are sold in streets; gardens are decorated and made ready to receive its guests who wear their new clothes and start picnic time.

Buying new clothe is one the main rituals of Egyptians during Eid el Fitr; most Egyptians, young and old generations are keen to buy special clothe for the eid.

Eating “Khahk”; is another Egyptian ritual; “Khahk” is a special kind of pancakes that Egyptian eat during Eid Al fitr; some Egyptians bake it at home and others buy it ready made from sweets shops, which compete during the Eid season.

“Adeya” is another,  Egyptian ceremonial procedures of Eid Al fitr in Egypt; it is a small amount of money giving by parents to their children to make them enjoy their time even more in such an annual cheerful celebration.

Eid Al fitr is still one of the most beautiful Egyptian celebrations that Egyptian awaits for every year.
