Elsewedy Electric Wins $60.8mn Kuwait Power Contract

Elsewedy Electric has secured a new infrastructure contract in Kuwait through its subsidiary, Egypt Cables Company, reinforcing its growing footprint in Gulf power projects.

The company signed a KWD 18.7 million (around USD 60.8 million) agreement with Kuwait’s Public Authority for Housing Welfare to execute high-voltage electrical cable works for the South Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential Project, one of the country’s flagship housing developments.

Under the turnkey contract, Egypt Cables Company will handle the design, supply, and installation of 400-kilovolt high-voltage cables, supporting Kuwait’s expanding residential and urban infrastructure.

The project is expected to be completed within 24 months from the start date and forms part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to meet rising housing demand while upgrading national power networks.

The contract adds to Elsewedy Electric’s regional order book and highlights the group’s continued role in large-scale power and infrastructure developments across the GCC.
