Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Sherif El-Sherbiny, engaged with Zheng Xuexuan, Chairperson of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), at the corporation’s Beijing headquarters. This meeting aimed to deepen their transformative partnership in Egypt’s urban landscape, with Egypt’s Ambassador to China, Khaled Nazmy, also in attendance.

The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration on major projects like the Central Business District (CBD) in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital and New Alamein’s Downtown Towers.

Zheng emphasized Egypt’s strategic importance in CSCEC’s Middle East and North Africa operations, praising the rapid progress of their joint projects.

El-Sherbiny suggested a strategic alliance between CSCEC and Egypt’s Arab Contractors to spearhead infrastructure projects across Africa, merging Chinese technology with Egyptian regional networks.

CSCEC is expanding its Egyptian footprint by establishing local manufacturing plants for steel and building facades, highlighting a commitment to sustainable practices.

Zheng praised Egyptian engineers and workers for their contributions, reflecting a shared commitment to local talent development and long-term economic growth.

This meeting marks a new phase in China-Egypt relations, promising not only domestic transformation but also positioning both nations as leaders in Africa’s infrastructure development.
