Egypt Opens Valeo AI Development Center to Boost Smart Mobility Innovation

Cairo — Egypt has strengthened its position as a regional technology hub with the inauguration of a new artificial intelligence development center by Valeo at the Smart Village, according to a statement from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Egypt .

The center was launched by Minister Raafat Hindi alongside senior executives from Valeo, marking a strategic expansion of the company’s operations in Egypt. The facility will initially employ 35 engineers, with plans to scale beyond 100 specialists, focusing on artificial intelligence applications in smart mobility, including electric vehicles and advanced driver-assistance systems .

Officials highlighted that Valeo Egypt—established over 20 years ago—has become the group’s largest global software development hub, contributing nearly half of its total software output. The new center aims to accelerate innovation while enhancing local expertise in AI and data science.

The Middle East Observer notes that the investment reflects growing confidence among multinational firms in Egypt’s digital ecosystem and skilled workforce.
