A Book Review for “From Incremental to Exponential, How Large Companies Can See the Future and Rethink Growth”

Must read

With businesses combating a global pandemic and facing disruption like never before, Ismail Amla and Vivek Wadhwa’s new book, ‘From Incremental to Exponential, How Large Companies Can See the Future and Rethink Growth’, explains the basics of innovation and shares how large organisations can tap into their resources to compete with smaller, more agile disruptors.

Described by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella as “a powerful set of examples and tools for incumbent businesses”, Amla and Wadhwa bust the myth that large businesses can’t innovate, setting out clear steps for leaders and employees alike to reinvent their organisations and boost their innovation potential.

The book provides a host of examples of global legacy brands that have successfully tapped into their resource advantages to facilitate and accelerate innovation, examines key characteristics of disruptors such as SpaceX, and sets out the eight deadly sins that could land a legacy business in the ‘Hall of Toast’.

Amla and Wadhwa then take a deeper dive into innovation, with four extensive case studies of Microsoft, Logitech, NextEra and Walmart, exploring how they have successfully innovated and transformed in the face of agile start-ups and disruptors.
