Tariq Amer, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, received the African Banker Award as best governor of African Central Banks in 2019.
Amer received the award at a ceremony held on Tuesday evening in the capital of Equatorial Guinea Malabo, on the sidelines of his presidency of the Egyptian delegation participating in the annual meetings of the African Development Bank.
The award is granted annually to Central Bank Governors who have made significant achievements in monetary policy and the banking sector within their countries.
The Central Bank of Egypt has achieved significant success in supporting the economic reform program since 2016.
