Egypt’s Manufacturing Industries Index (except crude oil, petroleum products) reached 140.46 unit by the end of November 2016, up from 124.99 unit in October 2016, with an increase 12.4%, according to The Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics.

CAPMAS clarified that the rise of the US dollar exchange rate against the Egyptian pound was the reason of this increase. It added that the food industries index has risen to 157.08 unit during November 2016, up from 137.69 unit in October 2016, due to the increase in the production of edible oil refining and the demand of animals feed.

In addition, the chemical production industry index reached 162,49 in November 2016, compared to 134,75 unit in the previous month, due to the seasonality of personal care products.

Meanwhile, the other transport equipment dropped to 950.57 unit in November 2016, compared to 1686.94 unit in October 2016, due to the decrease in demand and subway carriages production.
