Tiran & Sanafir announced by court as Egyptian islands

First circulation of the Administrative Justice Court presided by Chancellor Yahia Dakrory, in the Egyptian Council of State, has pronounced the invalidity of the judgment of returning Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia Kingdom and Egypt’s domination of the two islands. Tiran and Sanafir are uninhabited islands, situated at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba.  The court announced its lack of jurisdiction concerning this case.

 The case no. 43709 for the judicial year 70 was filed by Ali Ayoub, the lawyer, against the Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail, and Ali Abdul Aal, President of the Parliament. The case announced that Tiran and Sanafir’s borders demarcation agreement is quashed as it is not in accordance with borders’ demarcation agreement signed in 1906. The case shall not be passed through the Parliament according to article 151 of the Egyptian constitution.
