Maj. Gen. Attef Yacoub, CPA’s Head, said that the agency steadily cooperates with the General Authority for Veterinary Services to identify harmful practices and prosecute violators.

In light of this, a number of CPA’s law enforcement officers, joined by Public Health Manager Ahmed Abdel Galil and Meat Inspection Division’s Head Dr Tarek Youssef in Alexandria, launched an inspection campaign on restaurants in Moharam Bik district.

As a result, 45 kilos of rotten meat and rancid fat were found in “Fatoush” Restaurant; upon due inspection, the amount busted was found unfit for human consumption and not conforming with Egyptian standard specification no. 1546 of the year 2011.

The Inspection Authority confiscated the amount busted, to be properly disposed latter, and a report was filed to prosecution- under no. 7973- for consideration.
