Ihab Wassef, member of the Gold Division of the General Union Chamber of Commerce, said that the price of gold witnessed an increase of three Egyptian pounds per gram at the end of the week’s trading, over stable oil prices recording $36 per barrel and the rise in the global price of the ounce to reach $1147.
The 18-carat recorded EGP 232, the 21-carat recorded L.E.270, while the 24-carat recorded EGP 309. The price of a gold ipound hit EGP 2160, he said.
