A meeting comprising all elements of the emergency experiment of internal bodies at the Sharm El Sheikh Airport and all bodies of South Sinai governorate was held at the terminal in the presence of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority and the representative of Egyptian Company for Airports to get ready for announcing the start of the expanded emergency experiment with the participation of all internal elements at the airport.
Pilot Abdul Wahab Ali Abdul Wahab, the Director of Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, stressed the importance of emergency experiments for all the participants, whether internal or external bodies.
He announced the selection of Engineer Mahmoud Assem, the Head of Licensing Department at the Airport, to run the emergency experiment.
Assem gave a lecture on carrying out emergency experiments in conformity with the legislative measures of the International Agency of Air Transport and the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. He concluded the lecture with a video footage on the largest emergency experiment at night at the level of Egyptian and Middle East airports which took place in June 2013.
Eng. Hamed El-Sisi, the Director General of Airport Safety at the Egyptian civil Aviation Authority, asserted confidence in workers at Sharm el Sheikh International Airport to ensure the success of the mission in cooperation with the members of the South Sinai bodies and authorities.
The governorate supported the airport a great deal during the experiment of 2013 and the efforts exerted by the airport and commitment to international legislations and standards. This had a great impact on issuing a two-year license for the airport to become the first terminal to obtain such license among airport of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation.
