Distinguished Closing for EgyptAir, Airports Teams

EgyptAir Holding Company and the Airports Holding Company held distinguished sports festivals with the participation of both companies’ staff for Pentathlon at Aerosport Club, chaired by Pilot Walid Murad, for the first time between companies. The festivals were held under the auspices of Minister of Civil Aviation Pilot Hossam Kamal, Head of the Airports Holding Company Dr. Mahmoud Essmat and Head of Aerosport Club Pilot Walid Murad.  Head of the Airport Company Pilot Ahmed Geneina attended the final matches.

Aerosport  Club won first place in the free age pentathlon, Airport Company won second place, while the Egyptian Airports Company won third place. In the above 35 years of age competition, the Egyptian Airports Company won first place, while the Airport Company won second place. Winning and other teams as well as the referees, led by International Referee Gamal el Ghandour, were honoured in a celebration attended by the staff and the leaderships of companies.

Sports are given attention with the aim of raising the physical and mental fitness of workers, reviving their energy and increasing production,  Essmat said.

Head of the Egyptian Airports Company Pilot Adel el Mahgoub has decided to honour the winning team and praised the role played by the Sports Committee, chaired by Pilot Mohamed Sadek and the technical and administrative body chaired by Ezzat Mouda, Mohamed Azab (Ekramy) and Diaa Qorany. The team comprises Hussein Mohamed, Sameh Waheed, Amr Fouad, Mohamed Gaafar, Mohamed Askar, Emad Faheem, Emad Nasr, Wael Khalil, Essam Hassanein, Wali Ghareeb and Diaa Sabry. The championship was supervised by Tarek Mekky.

The Higher Committee for Sports and Cultural Activities at EgyptAir held the final matches of the 15th Ramadan championship for pentathlon football for the staff of EgyptAir and its affiliate companies, in the presence of Head of EgyptAir Holding Company Pilot Sameh el Hefny and the head of the EgyptAir Holding Company and board chairmen of affiliating companies, heads of sectors and a large number of staff. The championship was also held on Aerosport Club playgrounds with the participation of more than 500 players, administrative staff and trainers from EgyptAir Company and its affiliating companies.

During a ceremony held to hand over cups for the winners of first places, Hefny asserted the company’s keenness on holding such sports tournaments all year round to strengthen bonding among the staff, which will reflect positively on the level of offered services. He praised the honourable performance of the judging panel and the good organisation of the championship by the company’s Higher Committee for Sports and Cultural Activities.

In the 35 years of age stage, the Airlines team won first place over the Air Services team, while the medical and ground services teams won third and fourth places respectively.

In the 45 years stage, the Airlines team won first place over the Holding Company’s team which came second, while third and fourth places were Air Services and Ground Services teams respectively. In the 50 years stage, the finals were won by the Maintenance Team over medical services, while Ground Services and Holding Company teams won third and fourth places.
