The initiative, introduced under the patronage of university president Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, forms part of a broader institutional strategy to embed artificial intelligence into applied research and advisory functions. The bulletin brings together a series of specialised reports addressing priority areas including public health, environmental sustainability, pharmaceutical economics and smart agriculture. Among its central themes is the application of AI in early detection of respiratory diseases linked to emerging lifestyle risks, alongside the use of advanced technologies to support renewable energy deployment, smart buildings and waste management systems in Egypt’s urban centres.
Further analysis explores the economics of cancer treatment in developing countries, offering cost-efficiency insights relevant to healthcare planning, while separate studies examine AI-based tools for early detection of crop diseases, particularly in wheat, as part of broader efforts to strengthen food security. The publication also assesses the role of entrepreneurship and the informal economy in addressing structural unemployment, reflecting ongoing policy debates within Egypt’s economic reform framework.
University officials said the bulletin is intended to serve as a bridge between academic output and government action, supporting ministries and public institutions with applied research that responds to national priorities.
