Egypt’s Paralympic athletics team secured two medals at the India International Championship, marking another strong international showing as athletes continue preparations for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.

Abdelrahman Youssef delivered Egypt’s top result, capturing the gold medal in the long jump with a leap of 6.78 metres, adding to the country’s growing record in para athletics competitions.

Egypt’s second podium finish came through Yassin El-Bahr Jassour, who earned the bronze medal in the shot put after achieving a throw of 9.14 metres.

Officials say the results reflect the steady development of Egypt’s Paralympic sports programme and the increasing competitiveness of its athletes on the international stage.

The performance also highlights ongoing efforts by sports authorities to strengthen training and international exposure for Egyptian para athletes as part of long-term preparations for upcoming global competitions, including the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
