Egypt’s world squash star Nour El Sherbini has qualified for the final of the Texas Squash Championship, currently being held in Houston from February 12 to 17, with total prize money of $120,000 for both the men’s and women’s competitions.
El Sherbini secured her place in the final after defeating American player Marina Stefanoni in straight games, 3-0. The match scores were 11-9, 11-8, and 11-9, reflecting the Egyptian champion’s control and consistency throughout the semi final encounter.
In the final, El Sherbini is set to face American Olivia Weaver, who advanced after overcoming England’s Georgina Kennedy in three straight games.
The tournament has witnessed strong Egyptian participation, with 15 Egyptian players competing across the men’s and women’s draws, underlining Egypt’s continued dominance on the international squash stage.
