Egyptian fencer Mohamed El Sayed secured a landmark gold medal at the World Fencing Championships in Canada, defeating Israeli finalist Dov Perlinski in a commanding 15–5 victory. The win caps a strong tournament run, including a 15–7 semi final triumph over Hong Kong’s Sun Hui.
Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, congratulated El Sayed in a video call immediately after the match, praising the champion’s outstanding performance and affirming that the achievement highlights Egypt’s growing international competitiveness.
