Egyptian karate entered a historic new chapter as the national teams delivered a sweeping triumph at the World Championships for Seniors and People with Disabilities held in Cairo, reclaiming global dominance after more than three decades. The championship marked Egypt’s first senior world title in over 37 years, a moment described by Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi as powerful evidence of Egypt’s renewed leadership in international karate. Sobhi congratulated the athletes and the Egyptian Karate Federation, praising what he called an achievement rooted in strong will, deep discipline, and years of committed preparation. He emphasized that this victory symbolizes Egypt’s determined return to world-class competition and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting national champions and sustaining this level of excellence in future tournaments.
The senior national team showcased exceptional mastery, finishing first overall with a performance that highlighted both the strategic development of the sport and the rising talent of its leading competitors. Golden victories by Ahlam Youssef, Abdullah Mamdouh, and Youssef Badawy, alongside a strong bronze from Aya Hesham, reflected a resurgence in Egypt’s competitive edge and a renewed depth that places the team firmly among the world’s elite. Their achievements crowned a long-awaited moment that restores Egypt’s historical stature on the global karate map.
At the same time, the Egyptian Parakarate team continued its remarkable era of supremacy, securing the world championship title for the third consecutive year and dominating the field with a total of nine medals—four gold, one silver, and four bronze. Their medal count significantly surpassed that of second-place Italy, reaffirming Egypt’s unparalleled leadership in Parakarate across multiple disability categories. Gold medalists Abdel Aziz Assem, Fatima Abdel Badi, Ahmed Wahid, and Rawan Khalil delivered performances that underscored the technical strength and competitive resilience of the squad, while athletes such as Marwa Ahmed, Salma Alaa El-Din, Judy Ashraf, Jana Abdel Badi, and Abdel Rahman Ehab added valuable podium finishes that contributed to the team’s commanding standing.
