Telecommunications provider Orange Egypt has announced a strategic partnership with global technology titan Huawei. This collaboration aims to introduce Huawei’s Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) services through the Huawei Cloud Stack (HCS) Platform, marking a pioneering move for the Egyptian market.
The partnership promises to deliver streamlined network management, dynamic path selection, and enhanced performance across geographically dispersed offices. It is also set to bolster security and improve user experiences, crucial for supporting remote workforces and ensuring business continuity.
Aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which charts a path towards comprehensive digital transformation, this initiative is a testament to Orange’s commitment to expanding its WAN services while adhering to regulatory standards. “The partnership with Huawei builds on our enduring collaboration, enabling us to support various entities in their digital journeys,” stated Hesham Mahran, Orange’s Chief Business Officer. “We aim to optimize network and IT resource management, reinforcing our leadership in advanced technology services.”
Huawei Egypt’s Key Account Executive, Mohamed Youssef, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the longstanding success of the collaboration. “Our launch of SD-WAN services with Orange will revolutionize digital transformation by leveraging Huawei’s latest technologies and global expertise. The ICT sector’s contribution to Egypt’s GDP has been steadily rising, from 3.2% in FY 2017/2018 to 5.8% in FY 2023/2024, according to Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology. This growth underscores the sector’s critical role in the country’s economic development.
