In a thrilling showcase of digital prowess, Egypt clinched the top spot at a prestigious global cybersecurity drill, making waves in the tech world. Hosted by the Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Cybersecurity Council of the UAE, this intense competition took place during the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC) in Dubai. From May 6 to 8, Egypt’s National Computer and Network Emergency Response Center, under the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, showcased unmatched expertise in tackling cyber threats.
The Egyptian team dominated every challenge, earning the highest scores across the board and receiving accolades from the ITU Secretary-General for their outstanding performance. This drill aimed to boost the readiness of global incident response teams, enhance cybersecurity capabilities through regional alliances, and support ITU member states in refining their cyber incident strategies.
Setting a new world record, the event drew participation from 138 countries, marking a milestone in international collaboration against cyber risks.
