Engineer Karim Badawy meets Apache CEO regarding plans to increase oil and gas production searches and explorations

Eng. Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, held a bilateral discussion session with Mr. John Chrisman, CEO of the American Apache Company, and his accompanying delegation in the city of New Alamein, where the meeting witnessed a review and exchange of visions regarding plans to increase oil and gas production from the company’s concession areas in the Western Desert of Egypt and intensify activities, search and explore.

Eng. Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, stressed the importance of increasing cooperation and joint efforts between the petroleum sector and Apache Company in light of the importance the petroleum sector attaches to increasing production rates, pointing to the importance of supporting the expansion of the use of modern technology to raise the efficiency of existing fields, increase their production rates, and quickly place wells on a map, Production.

The Minister reviewed with Apache’s CEO ways to expand the company’s activities into new natural gas exploration areas in the Western Desert to contribute to increasing production.

The meeting also touched on a review of the recent visit of engineer Karim Badawi to the Khalda oil production fields in the Western Desert in which Apache invests, and the good return of the visit and meeting with the workers to motivate them to exert more effort and work.

The Minister stressed the interest in benefiting from the distinguished expertise of the personnel working at Apache Company and increasing the integration between them and the Egyptian expertise of the petroleum cadres in order to come up with unconventional plans to support increased production. He also explained the importance of working between the petroleum sector and Apache to achieve the highest safety rates for workers and facilities in the work areas and to enhance production methods. And operations in an environmentally responsible manner.

For his part, John Chrisman, CEO of Apache, said, “Apache is honored to meet with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss common interests and our continued commitment to Egypt.” He added, “We look forward to continuing progress in the Egyptian modernization initiatives that were launched in 2021 and working with the new government and the Ministry of Petroleum.” And Egyptian mineral wealth, while we continue our long-term partnership with Egypt to contribute responsibly to maximizing the country’s energy resources.”
