A joint venture between Marlan Space and US-based Loft Orbital, Orbitworks plans to build 50 satellites annually, each weighing 500 kg.The company, employing advanced technologies for satellite integration and testing, will soon begin work on its facility. While the location remains undisclosed, components for the first 10 satellites are already secured. The inaugural launch is expected in the first quarter of 2026, with assembly and testing of the first satellite platform slated for early 2025.
Orbitworks will enable rapid payload deployment in collaboration with Loft Orbital, enhancing the UAE’s capabilities in commercial space ventures. This investment is poised to significantly boost the UAE’s space sector, projected to reach $75 billion by 2032.
The UAE Space Agency’s “Space Means Business” campaign highlights business opportunities for Emirati and international companies. The UAE has already seen success with the Emirates Mars Mission and plans for the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt.
The successful deployment of these satellites will offer commercial value through enhanced telecommunications, Earth observation, and data services, driving technological and economic growth in the region.
