CAIRO – DP World has inaugurated Egypt’s first fully integrated Logistics Distribution Centre (LDC) at Sokhna Logistics Park, marking a significant step in the country’s ambition to strengthen its position as a regional logistics and trade hub.
The launch, attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and senior government officials, also marked the first official visit to Egypt by DP World Chairman Essa Kazim since assuming the role. During the ceremony, DP World signed agreements with its first three international customers, underscoring early commercial demand for the facility.
Located adjacent to Sokhna Port within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), the centre integrates freight forwarding, port operations, warehousing, inventory management, customs facilitation and value-added logistics services, enabling businesses to manage regional distribution from a single platform.
Kazim said the project reflects DP World’s confidence in Egypt’s potential to become a global centre for trade, industry and logistics, adding that the company will continue expanding its investments to support the country’s economic development and supply-chain competitiveness.
The new hub has already attracted customers spanning consumer goods, digital infrastructure and agricultural exports, reinforcing Egypt’s growing role as a gateway connecting African, Middle Eastern and international markets.
