In an unannounced inspection, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Karim Badawi, paid a surprise visit to Badr Petroleum Company in the Western Desert to review operations, production performance, and safety measures. The visit is part of an ongoing series of field tours aimed at ensuring accountability, supporting workers, and accelerating production growth across the sector.

The following morning, Badawi held an early follow-up meeting with company executives to discuss drilling plans, production updates, and adherence to occupational health and environmental standards. He emphasized that “accelerating exploration and production projects is a top priority,” noting that even small production gains can significantly reduce Egypt’s import bill and strengthen the national economy.

The minister called for expanded use of modern technology and innovative solutions to raise operational efficiency, alongside continuous field monitoring by company leaders. He praised workers for their role in maintaining Egypt’s energy security and ensuring stable supplies to industry and citizens alike.

Badr Petroleum Chairman Eng. Ashraf Abdel-Gawad presented updates on drilling and exploration programs within the company’s 2025/2026 budget and reaffirmed commitment to safety protocols and environmental systems.

The minister concluded by directing the company to maintain momentum, capitalize on technology-driven opportunities to increase output, and sustain strong on-site oversight.
