Egypt is set to launch an innovative online training platform, EGTAP.com. Announced by Tourism Minister Sherif Fathy, this initiative is part of a broader effort to invest in human capital within the country’s burgeoning tourism industry.
EGTAP.com will serve as a dynamic and interactive tool, offering certified and market-driven training programs tailored for employees in both the ministry and the private sector. The platform is designed to evolve continuously, keeping pace with industry developments and future workforce demands, ensuring that Egypt’s tourism services remain competitive on a global scale.
Minister Fathy highlighted the importance of diversifying training methods through global partnerships and embracing digital technologies. “Investing in our workforce is paramount. By opening access to advanced training programs, we aim to expose our staff to international best practices and elevate the standard of our tourism industry,” said Fathy at a ceremony held in Cairo.
The launch announcement coincided with the signing of two strategic cooperation protocols between Egypt’s Chamber of Tourist Establishments (CTE) and prominent leaders in hospitality training. Collaborations with Switzerland’s Sommet Education and the digital platform Lobster Ink underscore Egypt’s commitment to leveraging global expertise in enhancing its tourism sector.
Dr. Nabil Abbas, a professor of tourism management, commented on the significance of this initiative: “Egypt’s tourism sector has immense potential. By implementing comprehensive training platforms like EGTAP.com, the country is taking a crucial step towards building a highly skilled workforce capable of meeting international standards.”
As Egypt prepares to roll out EGTAP.com, expectations are high for its impact on the tourism industry. The platform is not only set to improve service quality but also to position Egypt as a leading destination for tourists worldwide by ensuring that its workforce is equipped with cutting-edge skills and knowledge.
The launch of EGTAP.com marks a pivotal moment in Egypt’s tourism sector, promising to enhance the industry’s global competitiveness and drive economic growth.
