Middle East Oil Tankage & Pipelines (MIDTAP). The 2024 General Assembly, led by MIDTAP Chairman, Engineer Hassanein Mohamed, revealed unprecedented progress in petroleum trading and community development, positioning MIDTAP as a pivotal player in the Mediterranean energy market.
2024 marked a historic year for MIDTAP, with their marine terminal experiencing a dramatic surge in activity. The company’s adoption of an innovative night navigation system at Dekheila Port was a game-changer. This advancement, in collaboration with partners MIDOR and EPROM, enabled 24/7 ship berthing operations, significantly reducing wait times and enhancing productivity. The results were spectacular: 153 tankers were received in 2024, up from 63 in the previous year, and petroleum product trading soared to 4.7 million tons, a phenomenal increase from 1.6 million tons in 2023.Prioritizing Safety and Efficiency
MIDTAP’s commitment to occupational health and safety standards has been unwavering, achieving a remarkable 590,000 safe working hours in 2024 alone, contributing to a total of 5.7 million safe hours since 2012. This emphasis on a secure working environment, alongside the implementation of risk control systems and work permits, underscores MIDTAP’s dedication to safety and operational excellence.
Digital Transformation and Operational Synergy
Embracing the digital age, MIDTAP completed the integration of its departments with the ERP work procedures automation program. This move underscores a strategic shift towards enhanced operational efficiency and seamless inter-departmental communication, setting a foundation for future innovations in the petroleum sector.
A Commitment to Community and Social Responsibility
Beyond its industrial achievements, MIDTAP has made significant strides in social responsibility. With a 30 million-pound investment, the company has launched various projects aimed at uplifting communities. Initiatives include improving living conditions in Alexandria’s Al-Amiriya district, developing the village of Basra, supporting the University Hospital in Alexandria with medical waste disposal technology, and contributing to the construction of critical healthcare infrastructure in Assiut.
Moreover, MIDTAP’s efforts extend to equipping play areas for children with disabilities in Suez, training medical staff in Matrouh hospitals, and implementing development projects across several Matrouh Governorate villages. These efforts reflect MIDTAP’s holistic approach to corporate responsibility, which aligns with national social priorities.
