Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail met last Saturday with the CEO of the Emirati gas and oil firm Dana Gas in attendance of Egypt’s Investment and International Cooperation Minister, Egypt’s ambassador to Jordan, and a number of officials at Dana Gas.
The Premier held this meeting on the sidelines of World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa that took place in Jordan.
Ismail asserted that the Egyptian government cares about oil and gas sector and exerts efforts to attract more investments to such an important and vital sector.
He noted that Egypt witnessed a lot of new discoveries within the last period which could contribute to providing more investment opportunities in petrochemicals field and any other industries related to gas and oil.
On the other hand, Dana Gas’ CEO hailed efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to provide an investment-attractive climate since the recently issued decree regarding the investment law provides more facilities and incentives for investors.
The official praised the current bilateral cooperation, adding that Dana Gas eyes participating in a number of new projects within the upcoming period.
During the meeting, the CEO submitted a number of suggestions to invest in petrochemicals industry. Regarding these suggestions, PM Ismail clarified that the government would study them.
During his visit to Jordan, Premier Ismail held a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart Hani Al-Mulki in which the first expressed his keenness to enhance means of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Jordan in all fields for the favor of Egyptian and Jordanian people as pursuant to the distinguishable mutual ties.
Ismail stated that holding World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa in Jordan is a real proof of Jordan’s fundamental role in the Middle East and is considered a praise for its economic and developmental policies pursuant to the challenges facing the Middle East notably terrorism crisis.
About the situation of Egyptian labour in Jordan, Ismail expressed thanks to his Jordanian counterpart for approving duration of one more month to handle the situation without any financial fine.
From his side, PM Al-Mulki welcomed strengthening means of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Jordan in all fields including boosting investments and trade exchange between both countries.
During the meeting, Ismail and Al-Mulki discussed a number of topics scheduled for the 27th round of the Jordanian Egyptian Supreme Committee which is set to be held next July.
