On 27 February 2017, the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr inspected the Investment Services Complex to follow up on the workflow in the Complex and the developments of establishing electronic companies expected to be opened soon.
The Minister met with a number of investors and companies’ representatives and emphasized that she ordered the General Authority for Investors and Free Zones (GAFI) to work in the Complex on Saturdays and extend the working hours until 8 p.m. to facilitate the public’s access to services during the development period, in line with the new services’ mechanization plan, as a result of the complaints about the quality of services provided to investors due to the current developments.
The Minister also directed GAFI to fulfill all requirements of investors and companies’ representatives on the same day as well as to continue work until the fulfillment of such requirements and the completion of the Complex’s developments as soon as possible.
Developments during the upcoming period would focus on the performance and problems that face investors and applicants, reiterated Dr. Nasr.
The Egyptian government, added the Minister, was keen on accelerating the injection of investments and adopting open policies to encourage investments, besides exerting further efforts to foster an adequate attractive investment climate and overcome all obstacles facing investors.
Dr. Nasr pointed out that she gave priority to taking all necessary measures to improve the business environment, which would, in turn, promote the economy and deliver targeted growth rates.
