Egyptian Scientists living abroad convened last Wednesday for a 2 day conference organised by the Ministry of Immigration in Hurghada. The “Egypt Can” Convention announced last Thursday its final recommendations as follows:
- Developing an extension to the current Aswan Heart Hospital into a medical city, with a high level care centre that can accommodate a larger number of patients, a research and development unit and equip the project with green solar energy.
- Space Scientists pledged to support the Egyptian Space Agency and its cooperation with the Egyptian New & Renewable Energy Authority (NREA).
- Establishing the national programme to raise awareness of how to deal with disasters and crises to be circulated among all state levels, universities, schools, government and private institutions.
- Implementing a plan for a gradual establishment of solar thermal power plants including photovoltaic cells and thermal heating to allow its full day operation to ease the load off the national power grid.
- 5. Using solar energy in water desalination and agriculture that can save 40% of the irrigation water and the use of modern irrigation techniques and technologies in the million and a half-acre project.
- Using artificial intelligence in analysing data generated by satellites to predict satellites in orbit problems.
- Establishing a national body affiliated to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to adopt policies for developing young innovators and market their innovations.
- A concentration towards establishing SMEs in the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, using resources available, such as silica, food and pharmaceutical industries.
- Developing a logistics support centre for services at the Suez Canal zone.
- Infrastructure Protection of the Suez canal Zone and developing new types of trains with the participation of the public and private sectors.
- Creating a work group to develop and activate a unified strategy for governance and development of information systems within the state to provide services to citizens and to overcome the challenges facing the community.
