Alaa Abou Zeid, Matrouh governor, said that procedures are taken to facilitate investment projects in Matrouh. As a consequence, work opportunities will be provided and development efforts will be enhanced in Matrouh. “We successfully attracted Emirati, Saudi, Korean and Egyptian investors last year. In addition, a memorandum was signed concerning Matrouh investments in the 1st International Economic Conference of Matrouh last October. Today, these projects final contracts will be signed”, said Zeid.
Zeid signed final contracts of 14 projects, worth EGP 70bn, with Emirati, Saudi, Korean and Egyptian investors. The 14 projects include tourism, agriculture and industry projects which will be implemented in the various districts of the governorate. The contracts were signed in the presence of the chairmen of both General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and General Authority for Tourism Development.
Zeid explained that these projects will include: A Saudi project for developing Ajeeba hill, a 5 stars hotel of 550 rooms at the hill’s bottom and an artificial lake against the hotel, in addition to entertainment centres, shopping malls, tourist resorts and an aerial left to take passengers up and down the hill.
2nd Matrouh International Economic Conference will be launched to implement economic projects of high investment value, according to Zeid.
The conference date will be set in few days; it will include a number of huge development and investment projects in all fields.
