Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture: The project is an effort exerted by the Ministries of Agriculture and Military Production to provide farmers with their needs
Essam Fayad, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, said that smart agriculture land tenure system is a national project that has been longed for. The new project will develop control and management methods on the different levels of the ministry. The project will ensure providing peasants and farmers with their due support.
“Smart agriculture land tenure system will help farmers get their production requirements without any fraud and strengthen a rigorous system of Agriculture, including putting an end to agricultural lands violations,” said Fayyad, during the celebration of launching the new project. The new project celebration took place in the Ministry of Military Production building in the presence of minister of planning and various representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Telecommunications.
“The new system is a result of the mutual efforts of Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Military Production, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Telecommunications, pointing out that Principal Bank for Development & Agricultural Credit (PBDAC) will be a new partner in this system.” Fayad highlighted.
Ahmed Abo El-Yazid, President of Agricultural Services sector, stated that this new system aims at providing an adequate national database of all land tenures, land spaces and crops production value. In addition, the new system targets giving full reports in order to enhance the decision making process, control and statistics procedures of cultivated lands across the country.
El-Sayed El-Kaseer, President of PBDAC, asserted that the new project aims at increasing and evaluating performance efficiency, along with ensuring the delivery of support to those who need it. It is the first time in Egypt to have actual oversight over land tenures, he added.
