Controls on customs and avoiding evasion represent the key elements of the government’s programme
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said that his cabinet’s programme aims at improving public services, achieving social justice, fighting high prices by placing controls on them, broadening social security network to protect low-income citizens’ rights and interests.
He added that the government is adopting unusual measures and a definitive programme to overcome economic challenges, develop infrastructure, reduce budget and trade balance deficits, back factories in default to resume with production and defeat high unemployment rates by implementing national projects. Ismail assured that his cabinet plans to upgrade electricity, potable water and drainage, public transport infrastructure networks, which have not been touched for years, especially in underdeveloped areas. Moreover, this reform programme targets designing clear plans to encourage domestic production and fighting illegal competition, monitoring borders to prevent importing tax and customs evasion.
