Ministries on spot: Funding developmental complexes at Sinai project

Dr Sahar Nasr, International Cooperation Minister, discussed with Ambassador Rashid bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Cairo, possibilities to enhance economic and developmental relations between both countries.

Minister Nasr expressed hope that there would be a quantum leap in Egyptian-Bahraini relations within the upcoming period.

The meeting confirmed the necessity of exchanging visits between the Egyptian and Bahraini sides to unify visions in all common areas, according the ministry’s statement.

Both officials discussed in the meeting means to finance a number of comprehensive developmental projects  -falling under the Sinai Development Project with a total value of $123m.

Among the development projects discussed are providing villages across Sinai with potable water and sewage services, and transportation means for students enrolled at distant schools.  Moreover, the project will include improving health units, establishing vocational education institutes in mid-Sinai, providing small-sized projects for female breadwinners, as well as youth to overcome unemployment problems.

Minister Nasr hoped that more joint efforts would be exerted for boosting cooperation between both countries.
