The 44th session of Arab Labour Conference, hosted by Cairo under auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, keeps on its works today with the participation of Labour Ministers and representatives of business owners’ organisations and trade unions in 21 member states in the Arab Labour Organisation (ALO).
The conference is also attended by representatives of the Arab League General Secretariat and a number of Arab, regional and international organisations and unions as observers, as well as, several Arab and international actors in economic and social development field.
The session will discuss several important topics including a report by Fayez El Mutairi, General Manager of the Arab Labour Organisation (ALO): “Vocational Training is an Essential Basis for Sustainable Development Strategies 2030 in the Arab region”. The report tackles the activation of human resources development by focusing on good training and necessary skills and competencies that qualify young graduates to enter the Arab Labour Markets.
The conference will last until April 16 discussing two technical issues. The first is: “Entrepreneurship and its role in development and promotion of employment” related to entrepreneurship, consolidation of work values and fostering the spirit of innovation among the Arab youth.
The second issue includes enhancing the role of Arab women in implementing sustainable development programmes, which provide equal job opportunities for women. The conference previews a number of items that provide a clear report on the achieved progress regarding the Arab Employment Contract and the works of regular committees of the Organisation for Freedom of Association, Legal Experts and Arab Women’s Affairs.
The 44th session of the Arab Labour Conference was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Engineer Sherif Ismail and witnessed the launch of 1st e-version of the Arab Network for Labour Market Information to develop mechanisms for transferring and exchanging data, statistics and information between the countries.
