In a step that proves its commitment towards the national youth empowerment strategy, Dubai Expo 2020 partook in the 6th edition of Dubai job fair.
This job fair, organised by Dubai World Trade Centre, higher technical colleges, and United Arab Emirates University, is considered a strategic platform, designed specially to ease successful interaction between public and private sectors and the Emirati unique talents.
Innovative inspiration
Through “Developing professional ideas” workshop, Dubai Expo 2020 inspired and encouraged, in an innovative way, participants to work together to form the future working environment. This workshop was held in cooperation with the UAE-based Customer @ Heart Foundation. It aimed at encouraging high school students, college graduates, job seekers, and young talents to engage in designing the working environment from their own perspective.
The importance of this workshop arises from presenting the opportunity to attendees to express their ideas creatively, which reflects Expo 2020’s main theme, i.e., “Communication of Brains to Make Future”, and how it is related to their real life experience and achieving career goals.
Power of the youth
Manal AlBayat, Vice-president of Engagement for Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “We believe in the power and potentials of the youth which will shine whenever we enable them to learn, innovate and go through useful experiences”. “We seek through Expo 2020 Dubai initiatives to communicate with the youth and prompt them to consider future opportunities, challenges and hopes, and consequently, activate and sustain their role in preparing for the awaited event in 2020,” AlBayat added.
Moreover, these workshops are part of an ongoing series of initiatives adopted by Expo 2020 to interact with all sects of society with the aim of exchanging ideas and visions and working towards creating a better future for everyone.
Professional training programme
Expo 2020 Dubai has launched recently a professional training programme to help the youth develop their careers by educating and training calibers, according to the best eligibility standards. This new initiative came under the supervision of a set of experts who manage preparations for the awaited event in 2020.
The programme comprises professional training and development workshops, a 2-month academic period, and a 6-month employment opportunity in Expo 2020 Dubai, as well as a full month assessment and evaluation term before graduation.
During the programme, participants will partake in practical contests, building skills events, and discussions. They will also have the opportunity to communicate with others, since each one of them is asked to submit a graduation project.
